This public art work on Great Eastern Street in Shoreditch celebrates the centenary of the Representation of the People Act. The street art and tube carriages are more permanent features (Photo: Hannah Awcock).

2018 marks the centenary of the Representation of the People Act, which gave some women over the age of 30 who owned property the right to vote in Britain. Although all women weren’t given the right to vote until 1928, it was a significant moment in the history of women’s rights campaigning. To celebrate this anniversary, all of the Turbulent Londoners I feature this year will have had some involvement in the campaign for women’s suffrage. Suffragists have featured on Turbulent London before however, so on this page I have collected together all the posts related to the campaign for women’s suffrage.
